Talkingpoint receives venture financing from Maveron

February, 2005 — Minneapolis-based Talkingpoint completed a private placement of Series A preferred stock with Maveron LLC, a Seattle-based venture capital firm, as the round's lead investor. The terms and size of the offering were not disclosed. Talkingpoint delivers a turn-key consumer research and relationship marketing service that enables businesses to cost effectively engage customers in completing actionable surveys through brand-enhancing research campaigns that incent and reward customers for their participation. Talkingpoint's President and CEO, Phil Hotchkiss, provides the strategic direction and management leadership for Talkingpoint and also oversees product design and serves as a member of the Company's board of directors. Prior to joining Talkingpoint, Mr. Hotchkiss founded BigCharts Inc. in 1994 and served as its Chairman, President and CEO from inception through the company's sale to CBS MarketWatch.com Inc.

Maveron is a leading venture capital firm focused on branded consumer companies and the technologies used to power them. Maveron's partners include Starbucks founder Howard Schultz.
